Agrounding - Touch Bottom Survey
When damage has been caused by a collision, grounding, fire, heavy weather or machinery breakdown SSI can provide a detailed damage assessment report, repair requirements, specifications and supervision as required.
Related duties of a surveyor including but not limited to take sounding around the vessel’s agrounding area, sounding of Ballast Tanks, Fuel Oil Tanks, attend the underwater survey conducted by accredited divers then await their report to be relayed to the Principal.
Depending on the extent of the damage to the vessel, various factors have to be considered before any action is taken. Self refloating attempts, tug assistance or other means it is paramount to seek advice from experts in the field.
